Philippine Electric Corporation (PHILEC) is a Filipino company majority owned by First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPHC), a large and highly diversified Philippine corporation composed of various subsidiaries and affiliate companies actively involved and profitably engaged in energy resource development, manufacturing, financial services, construction, engineering, trading and commercial services.
Starting out in 1969 as the country's pioneer manufacturer of distribution transformers, PHILEC today manufactures a wide range of single and three-phase distribution and power transformers up to 15MVA. PHILEC has a strong in-house technical capability developed over the years through technical tie-ups with leading world class technology corporations such as General Electric and Cooper Power System of USA and Hitachi of Japan.
Through these technical tie-ups, PHILEC has developed the necessary competencies to assimilate, refine and adapt these to the needs of the various markets it serves. PHILEC products conform to the requirements of the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) but can also be designed to meet other widely accepted standards such as International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), British Standards (BS) and Japanese Standards (JEC).
The company maintains a modern and fully integrated manufacturing facility which enables PHILEC to efficiently manufacture high quality transformers.
